2 States Enters Rs 100 Crore Movies Club At Box Office

Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala's joint production 2 States, which has been made with a whopping budget of Rs 36 crores, has become the Blockbuster success of the year 2014. The Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer has entered the club of Rs 100 crore movies at the Indian Box Office in 22 days. It has become the second Bollywood film to achieve this magical number after Salman Khan's Jai Ho.

Released in 2000 screens in the domestic market, 2 States debuted with overwhelming response on its opening day. A good word of mouth helped the movie to maintain rock-steady in the following days. The film collected Rs 60.77 crore in the first week and Rs 26.54 crores in the second week. It had raked in Rs 87.31 at the Indian Box Office in 14 days and it was expected to surpass Rs 100 crore mark in third week.

When compared to its opening week business, 2 States witnessed more than 80% decline in the third week. The movie collected Rs 11.64 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the third week, taking its 21 day domestic total to Rs 98.95 crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 1.67 cr on Fri, Rs 2.70 cr on Sat, Rs 3.13 cr on Sun, Rs 1.12 cr on Mon, Rs 1.08 cr on Tue, Rs 1.01 cr on Wed, Rs 93 lakhs on Thu.

The movie 2 States has raked in approximately Rs 1.10 crore at the Indian Box Office on its fourth Friday, taking its 22 day domestic collection to Rs 100.05 crores. This happens to be the first film for Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, third film for Karan Johar and the second film for Sajid Nadiadwala to cross Rs 100 crore grosser.
