Mukesh
Bhatt's
latest
production
City
Lights
has
concluded
the
first
week
with
a
decent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
While
one-week
old
movie
Heropanti
topped
the
domestic
business
chart,
the
Rajkummar
Rao
and
Patralekha
starrer
has
landed
in
the
second
place.
Made
on
shoe-string
budget,
the
movie
has
recovered
its
production
cost
in
seven
days.
Along
with
Kuku
Mathur
Ki
Jhand,
Citylights
released
in
a
limited
number
of
screens
in
the
domestic
market
on
May
30
and
opened
to
lackluster
response,
but
it
had
better
amount
occupancy
than
another
new
release.
However,
a
positive
word
of
mouth
got
the
film
a
miraculous
jump
over
the
weekend.
When
compared
to
its
opening
day
business,
the
movie
witnessed
almost
100%
growth
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
Directed
by
Hansal
Mehta,
Citylights
has
collected
Rs
6
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
70
lakhs
on
Fri,
Rs
1.32
cr
on
Sat,
Rs
1.55
cr
on
Sun,
Rs
64
lakhs
on
Mon,
Rs
63
lakhs
on
Tue,
Rs
56
lakhs
on
Wed
and
Rs
60
lakhs
on
Thu.
The
movie
has
been
made
with
a
small
budget
of
Rs
6
crores
and
it
has
recovered
this
amount
in
seven
days.
Citylights
is
expected
to
earn
a
decent
amount
of
profit
share
in
the
second
week.
However,
two
much-hyped
movies
like
Holiday
and
Filmistan
have
released
in
theatres
today
(June
6).
Trade
experts
feel
that
they
will
definitely
take
a
toll
on
the
business
of
the
Rajkummar
Rao
and
Patralekha
starrer.
