Entertainment 1st Weekend Box Office: Beats Humpty, Heropanti

Despite of competing with Salman Khan's blockbuster hit, Kick, Akshay Kumar's Entertainment has been doing a good business at the Indian Box Office. We expected the movie to compete strongly with Salman Khan's Kick. However, the comedy drama failed to stand anywhere close to the blockbuster Eid release, Kick.

Entertainment
broke the 2-Day collections of Alia and Varun starrer, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania at the box office. Moreover, Akshay Kumar's Entertainment also broke Heropanti's opening weekend collections. In 2 days (Friday and Saturday), Entertainment generated 22.69 crore at the box office. However, the movie could not beat Akshay's last release, Holiday's collections.

According to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Entertainment's first weekend box office collections was decent. He tweeted, "#Entertainment Fri 11.16 cr, Sat 11.53 cr, Sun 14 cr. Total: ₹ 36.69 cr nett. India biz."

Akshay Kumar's Entertainment opened well on the box office on its first weekend with 36.69 crore business. Also starring Tamannaah Bhatia, Sonu Sood, Johnny Lever, Prakash Raj and Krushna Abhishek, the movie marks the directorial debut of famous writer duo Sajid-Farhad. The movie has released in around 3200 screens. Finally, Entertainment beat Sunny Leone's Ragini MMS 2's first weekend collections at box office as it collected 36.69 crore at the Box Office. Ragini MMS 2 got 24.5 crore on the first weekend.

Entertainment is expected to perform decent in the coming weekdays. However, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's Singham Returns (which releases on Friday, 15th August) might affect the box office collections of the comedy movie. Unlike Kick, Entertainment has got only one week time at the screens as the much awaited Singham Returns is releasing this Friday.
