Bollywood
movie
Filmistaan,
which
released
on
June
6,
opened
to
a
poor
start,
but
has
shown
superb
growth
in
the
following
days.
Despite
clashing
with
Superstar
Akshay
Kumar's
Holiday
A
Soldier
Is
Never
Off
Duty,
the
movie
featuring
less
popular
actors
in
the
lead
roles,
has
done
fantastic
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
week
and
landed
in
the
second
place
in
the
domestic
business
chart.
Earlier
this
year,
Filmistaan
was
premiered
at
the
International
Film
Festivals
and
California
Norway
Sweden,
Busan,
Jaipur
and
Kerala
and
had
garnered
rave
reviews
from
critics
there.
Released
in
a
limited
number
of
cinema
halls
in
the
domestic
mark,
the
movie
received
lukewarm
response
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
15%
and
20%
on
its
opening
day.
Its
business
was
affected
by
Holiday.
But
a
strong
word
of
mouth
took
its
business
upwards
with
Filmistan
showing
more
than
100%
growth
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
The
movie
did
well
on
weekdays
and
its
weekdays
collection
was
much
better
than
its
opening
day
numbers.
The
film
has
collected
Rs
4.42
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
51
lakhs
on
Fri,
Rs
1.04
cr
on
Sat,
Rs
1.26
cr
on
Sun,
Rs
54
lakhs
on
Mon,
