Hasee Toh Phasee Gets Average Response At Box Office

This Friday, Bollywood has released four movies like Hasee Toh Phasee (HTP), Heartless, Babloo Happy Hai and Ya Rab and all of them have received lukewarm response at the Indian Box Office on the opening day. Among the four films, the Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer romantic comedy drama has little better response than others. It is leading the race at the ticket counters across the country.

Hasee Toh Phasee has been creating positive waves in the media ever since it was announced. Its promos have added lot of fuel to its hype. In addition, the makers of the movie have done massive promotions for it and Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra have appeared on few TV shows to promote the movie. So trade analysts had predicted that the film would start with bang at the Indian Box Office.

But Hasee Toh Phasee has failed to live upto the predictions. The movie has an average start in the morning and matinee shows on its opening day. It has registered 40% occupancy at multiplexes in metro cities, while single screens record around 30% footfalls in the first two shows. The movie has got positive reviews from critics. Trade experts opine that a good word of mouth would take its business upwards in the later shows.

Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh writes, "Hasee Toh Phasee is riding on critical acclaim and the business of films targeted at plexes, generally, gather momentum during the course of the day. Of course, the start has been slow, hence the film will need to grow steadfastly to gross good numbers over the weekend."
