Salman
Khan's
Jai
Ho,
which
released
in
theatres
on
January
24,
is
one
of
the
most
talked
about
and
highly-anticipated
Hindi
movies
of
2014.
Considering
the
pre-release-hype
surrounding
the
movie,
trade
expert
had
predicted
that
the
Sohail
Khan
directed-action
thriller
would
get
a
record-breaking
opening
and
cross
Rs
300
crore
mark
at
the
Indian
Box
Office,
beating
Dhoom
3
lifetime
record.

Bollywood
trade
analyst
Taran
Adarsh
said,
"Jai
Ho
should
open
very,
very
well,
thanks
to
Salman's
star
power
and
also
his
absence
from
the
screen
for
an
entire
year.
The
craze
for
the
film
is
building
up
with
each
passing
day.
As
far
as
making
Rs
300
crore
goes,
that
would
depend
entirely
on
the
strength
of
the
content."
Producer
Vashu
Bhagnani,
who
still
remembers
the
stupendous
opening
of
his
film
with
Salman
-
Biwi
No
1,
had
opined,
"
Jai
Ho
would
definitely
open
very
well.
Salman
has
the
full
public
support.
His
ardent
fan-base
would
definitely
go
see
the
film.
It
should
cross
the
300-crore
mark
specially
seeing
the
number
of
screens
it's
being
released
on."
Salman
Khan's
previous
releases
Dabangg,
Ek
Tha
Tiger
and
Dabangg
2
have
become
Blockbusters.
Especially,
Ek
Tha
Tiger
has
just
missed
to
touch
the
mark
of
Rs
200
crore
at
the
Indian
Box
Office,
Amod
Mehra
said,
"As
Salman
is
enjoying
such
a
huge
fan-following,
a
bumper
opening
is
assured.
However,
the
promos
and
music
are
dull.
Reaching
Rs.200
crore
may
prove
to
be
a
Herculean
task."
Another
Bollywood
trade
expert
had
opined,
"I
saw
the
film
at
a
trial.
Both
the
pre-
and
post-interval
halves
have
that
jolt
that
makes
you
sit
up
and
watch
when
you
are
least
expecting
any
kind
of
upheaval.
That
is
the
USP.
Salman's
presence
is
'ekdum
dhamaakedar'."
He
added,
"My
verdict.
It'd
be
bigger
than
Ek
Tha
Tiger,
but
not
as
big
as
Dabangg.
Eros
would
find
it
hard
to
recover
the
money
they
paid
Sohail
for
the
film."
Directed
by
Salman's
brother
Sohail,
Jai
Ho
focuses
on
corruption
which
hit
more
than
4,400
screens
in
India.
Despite
getting
positive
response
from
viewers
and
film
critics,
the
movie
has
failed
to
beat
the
records
of
Ek
Tha
Tiger.
Now,
question
is
whether
it
will
cross
Rs
200
crore
mark
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
and
become
the
highest
grosser
movie
in
the
career
of
Sallu
Miyan.
Jai
Ho
has
collected
approximately
Rs
85
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
six
days
and
is
expected
to
rake
in
another
Rs
6
to
7
crores
on
the
seventh
day,
concluding
the
first
week
with
Rs
92+
crores.
There
are
no
big
Bollywood
releases
in
the
next
three
weeks.
If
the
film
shows
improvements
in
this
period,
there
are
chances
that
its
collection
is
likely
to
come
closer
to
Rs
150
crore
in
the
domestic
market,
but
it
may
not
cross
Rs
200
crore
mark.
