Badlapur First Day Box Office Collection: Slow Start

Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam starrer Badlapur is a crime drama which has garnered good positive reviews. The movie directed by Sriram Raghavan has done a good job at the Box Office in Gulf region.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Badlapur - UAE & GCC [revised total]: Thu AED 500,000 [₹ 84.74 lacs]. Very good!" trade analysts Taran Adarsh tweeted."

In India, the film has started at a slow pace. Badlapur released on a regular Friday and the morning show opened with an occupancy of 25%-30%.

Badlapur released in only 1700 screens and that was a reason for a slow start at the Box Office. Trade Analysts and other experts expected the film to pick up in the evening and during the weekend.

The film which was made on small budget of Rs 25 Cr is expected to earn the production by the weekend.

However, a source revealed that, "It is being said that the film has cost Rs 50 Cr to the makers (Eros and Dinesh Vijan). This is sheer nonsense and doesn't carry any basis whatsoever. The film has been made at around Rs 16 Cr with Rs 9 Cr set aside for P&A (Print and Advertising). This comes to around Rs 25 Cr, which is just perfect for a film like Badlapur which is commercial in its own way."
