Katti Batti First Day (Opening) Box Office Collection: As Bad As Bombay Velvet
Katti Batti movie's performance on the Indian Box Office has been average. The film starring Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut has performed less than expected on the opening day, Friday.
The film has released in 2600 screens, owing to which Messenger Of God-2 could get only 1800 screens in the domestic market.
A couple of days ago, the movie was predicted to get 50-60% opening since the lead actress, Kangana has been giving a lot of hit movies lately, and also her first time pairing with Imran Khan drew a lot of attention but when it came to the D-day, the film opened with just 35-40% occupancy on Friday.
The negative reviews of the movie is not helping the makers, who will now have to purely depend on the word of mouth promotions. Katti Batti is performing well in multiplexes more than single screen theaters as the latter's occupancy rate depends on word of mouth promotions.
Trade experts reported increase in footfalls post evening shows, Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#KattiBatti biz picked up during evening/night shows. Fri ₹ 5.28 cr. India biz."
Though the collections may not be as great as expected, the movie can manage to get a two week run at the Box Office to recover its' making cost, since the next big release, Singh Is Bliing is not till October 2nd.
