Irrfan Khan and Konkana Sen Sharma's starer Talvar has fared remarkably well at the Indian box office. The movie is based on the real life incident of the Aarushi Talwar murder and has got all the positive reviews from the film critics.
Talvar is directed by Maghna Gulzar and is written by Vishal Bhardwaj. Apart from the good reviews the word of mouth publicity also worked in the favour of the movie.
The film earned around Rs 2.5 crore on its opening day after fetching an impressive Rs 50 lakh through paid previews, a day before its release.
Talwar collected Rs 2.75 crore on its second day i.e Saturday and on Sunday the box office collections of the movie were Rs 3.50 crore. Thus making a total of Rs 9.25 crore, which is very good for a small budget film like this.
Talking about Talvar, famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, ''#Talvar gathers momentum with each passing day. Thu previews 50 lacs, Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 2.75 cr, Sun 3.50. Total: ₹ 9.25 cr. India biz.''
Despite facing a competition from the big release of the week - Singh Is Bliing and last week's comedy film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Talvar is going strong at the Indian box office.
