Aamir Khan's Dangal Mints More Than Salman Khan's Sultan At The Box Office

Aamir Khan's Dangal is performing really well at the box office and has minted more money than Salman Khan's Sultan.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khans sports drama Dangal has minted Rs 197.53 Crores at the box office in its opening weekend surpassing what Salman Khan-starrer Sultan, 2016's highest grosser, collected in its first week.

Sultan, which reportedly registered a Rs 300 Crores collection in India, had made Rs 180.36 Crores.Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh said that Dangal has stood out as a "winner".

"Dangal emerges a winner. Collects a whopping Rs 197.53 crores nett in week one. Expected to sprint towards Rs 250 crores by weekend two," Adarsh posted on Twitter. He added, "Dangal reign to remain unopposed, unchallenged for another week. Question is, when will it hit Rs 300 crores mark? Will it challenge Sultan?" Dangal, which released on December 23, collected Rs 20.29 Crores on Thursday and is now expected to cross the Rs 200 Crores mark on Friday, read a statement issued on behalf of Disney India, which has backed the Nitesh Tiwari directorial.
