Dear Zindagi First Day (Opening) Box Office Collection: Decent!

Finally, the most awaited film of the year Dear Zindagi has passed the critics' acid test and has got good reviews from them as well as the audiences. Dear Zindagi which saw a mid week release in USA, is already performing very well in the oversaes market, all thanks to Shahrukh Khan's popularity.

Talking about it, famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, "#DearZindagi had a midweek release in USA [Thanksgiving Weekend]... Collected an IMPRESSIVE $ 172,571 [Rs. 1.19 cr] on Wednesday. @Rentrak." He added, ''#DearZindagi has a STRONG start... Hi-end plexes of major centres contribute maximum... Fri 8.75 cr [1200 screens]. India biz.''

Dear Zindagi has been released only in around 1100 screens in India, which is a smart move by the makers as they have targeted the multiplexes more because it's a niche film.

The total cost of production of the movie is just Rs 22 cr, which means that the profit is likely to be massive considering the budget. Shahrukh Khan has not charged a single penny for his role in the movie but as a producer of the film he will share the profits.

Now let's talk about Dear Zindagi's satellite and music rights. Reportedly, the satellite rights of Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt's film have been sold for Rs 25 cr and the music rights have been sold for Rs 10 cr. It clearly states that even before the release, Dear Zindagi had earned Rs 35 cr.

So, will Dear Zindagi be successful in crossing the 100 cr mark at the box office? Only time will tell!
