Jai Gangaajal First Day (Opening) Box Office Collection

Priyanka Chopra starrer Jai Gangaajal which was directed by Prakash Jha did not perform well on the opening day at the Indian Box Office.

The film obtained mixed reactions from people and critics just declared is an average film with an outstanding performance by Priyanka Chopra.

The lead actresses apparently poured her blood and sweat into this role and it showed but unfortunately the direction and screenplay did not support her. The fact that director Prakash Jha hogged the limelight in the film futher disappointed the viewers.

Such reviews resulted in low occupancy! The film's occupancy was just around 10-15% during the morning shows in multiplexes. Since the film is based in Bihar, the northern belt did better, meaning Uttar Pradesh and the Central India circuits had better occupancy.

The film was made on a meagre budget of Rs 10 crores and released in over 2600 screens. Jai Gangaajal now wholely depends on good word of mouth publicity.

The fact that Priyanka Chopra was busy with her Hollywood ventures and could not dedicated time to promote the film has affected it badly.

Hopefully her fans rush to theaters over the weekend and the word of mouth publicity kicks in, resulting in better Box Office collection over the weekend.

As of now, the film is expected to collect just Rs 2-3 crores on the opening day. The fact that the budget is low is saving grace for the makers because worst case scenario they will at least recover the making cost even if they can't hit the big numbers.

Meanwhile her popularity is only increasing with the actress crossing 13 million mark on Twitter. The 33-year-old actress thanked all her fans and hoped that her "crazy ride" continues. "13 million and counting... Blessed! Here's to continuing our mad, crazy ride," Priyanka posted.

Hopefully these fans turn up at the theater and help her film become a big hit!
