Rocky Handsome First Day (Opening) Box Office Collections: Rs 7 Crores

Rocky Handsome starring John Abraham has managed to rake in big moolah through it's paid preview shows, held on Thursday.

Both Rocky Handsome and Batman Vs Superman had paid previews and both these films managed to garner good money. Rocky Handsome collected Rs 1.84 crores and the Hollywood flick minted Rs 3.75 crores through Thursday shows.

Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#RockyHandsome Thu previews ₹ 1.84 cr. India biz. VERY GOOD!"

On Friday, the movie obtained second highest opening after Akshay Kumar's Airlift in the morning shows. The film opened to 25-30% occupancy, which is really good, while Batman Vs Superman opened to 50% occupancy.

Though Rocky Handsome is a solo Hindi release, it is facing stiff competition from Hollywood film, Batman Vs Superman, especially since the former movie released in very limited number of screens.

Rocky Handsome is targeted towards single screen theaters and other small centers as Batman Vs Superman will take better occupancy in multiplexes.

John Abraham starrer has opened to mixed reviews, but mostly good ones which has helped in attracting the viewers. Good word of mouth has increased the footfalls in the evening and night shows.

Since Good Friday is a holiday, the long weekend has proved to be beneficial for the makers who are expecting to cash in on it, big time.

The film has collected Rs Rs 5.29 crores on Friday, reported trade expert, Taran Adarsh, "#RockyHandsome Thu previews 1.77 cr, Fri 5.29 cr. Total: ₹ 7.06 cr. India biz."

In spite of other good movie releases, Sonam Kapoor's Neerja is running into its 6th week and Kapoor And Sons starring Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra too is running successfully for it is a flawless movie.

These two old but damn good movies are also giving John's film a little competition, especially Kapoor And Sons which has collected Rs 100 crores at the Box Office.
