The movie, which is facing a tough competition from Shahrukh Khan's Raees has performed decently on its first day. Taran Adarsh revealed the collections of the movie, ''#Kaabil Wed ₹ 10.43 cr... Biz should escalate today [Thu; Republic Day].'' On the first day, Shahrukh Khan's film took a huge lead but it is the Republic Day weekend that will decide the future of both the films.

For the uninitiated, Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil has just got 40 percent of the total number of screens. Not just that, the film also got a smaller share as far as the single screens are concerned.
Talking about it, Rakesh Roshan told a leading daily, "I am so shocked about getting 60:40 screens in India. The exhibitors promised us 50:50 screens all over but they didn't do as planned. When my film has got an equal amount of screens overseas, then why not in India? I have always made films for the audience and made them believe that they are one of the characters of my film.''
He added, ''I'm not bothered about the clash with Raees at all but I feel the exhibitors are influenced with the star power in our country. I feel sad that corporates have taken the industry many steps backwards.''
