Box Office Weekend: Akshay Kumar’s Gold & John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate Earn Rs 125 Crore In Total
Box office weekend collections (Day 5): Akshay Kumar starrer Gold and John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate earned Rs 125 Crore in total.

The first weekend box office collections of Akshay Kumar starrer Gold and John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate ended up in good numbers, as both the movies earned Rs 125 Crore in total. The extended Independance Day holiday gave both the movies a boost, and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter by saying, "And the biz multiplies on Sun... Both, #Gold and #SatyamevaJayate have recorded strong figures over the *5-day extended weekend*... Combined biz is approx ₹ 125 cr nett [+/-]... Ironically, approx one-third biz [of ₹ 125 cr] was accumulated on #IndependenceDay alone."
While Gold collected a whopping Rs 25.25 Crore at the box office on the first day of its release, Satyameva Jayate was not far behind, as it collected Rs 20.56 Crore at the box office on the first day as well. The overall (5 Days) box office collection for Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy starrer Gold stands tall at Rs 71.30 Crore and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Gold has an EXCELLENT *extended* opening weekend... Took a dip on Day 2, but gradually picked up from Day 3 to Day 5... All eyes on Mon-Thu biz... Wed 25.25 cr, Thu 8.10 cr, Fri 10.10 cr, Sat 12.30 cr, Sun 15.55 cr. Total: ₹ 71.30 cr. India biz."
Also, John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate's overall (5 Days) box office collection is Rs 56.91 Crore and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#SatyamevaJayate packs a STRONG *extended* opening weekend total... Went downhill on Day 2, but remained consistent from Day 3 to Day 5... Weekdays biz is crucial... Wed 20.52 cr, Thu 7.92 cr, Fri 9.18 cr, Sat 9.03 cr, Sun 10.26 cr. Total: ₹ 56.91 cr. India biz."
However, now that the extended weekend has come to an end, we'll have to wait and watch if both Gold and Satyameva Jayate can stand the test of time during the weekdays, since the box office collections during this time usually see a dip.
