72 Hoorain Vs Neeyat Box Office Day 1 Collection: Sanjay Puran Singh's 72 Hoorain opened in cinemas on July 7 amid all the controversies. The film, even before its trailer was launched, had found itself at the receiving end of various controversies. However, it looks like none of them have helped the film catalyse its numbers on its opening day.
Whereas another detective multi-starrer movie, Neeyat, starring Viday Balan in the lead, hit the screens on Friday, July 7. It marks Balan's return to the big screen after 2019's Mission Mangal. However, this film too didn't have much substance to pull the audience into the theatre.
Let's see which film earned more on its opening day and remained ahead.
72 Hoorain day one box office collection
According to early estimates, the film has managed to earn only Rs 35 lakh on day 1. Starring Pavan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir, 72 Hoorain has been constantly compared to The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story given its subject and was expected to create the same magic these two films created at the box office.
However, it looks like the film doesn't have the solid grounds and content that would attract audiences in large numbers to the cinema. Well, in terms of numbers, Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files opened up at a solid Rs 3.55 crore, while the Adah Sharma starrer minted around Rs 8 crore.
Neeyat box office collection
Meanwhile, after a gap of four years, actress Vidya Balan made her big screen comeback with the detective mystery Neeyat. Starring an ensemble cast of Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Dipannita Sharma, Shashank Arora, and Shahana Goswami, the film opened to mixed reviews. It too remained subpar in its collection on day 1, but it is ahead of 72 Hoorian.
According to the early trend and a report from Sacnilk, Vidya Balan's film has earned Rs 1 crore on the first day of its release.
But we can expect a jump in the figures during the weekends.
