Animal Box Office Day 1: Ranbir Gets His Biggest Opener

Ranbir Kapoor has all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days and rightfully so. After all, his recent release Animal is roaring loud at the box office. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and also starring Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in the lead, Animal has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and it has opened to an impressive response from the audience and critics.

Touted to be an action drama, Animal had managed to create a substantial buzz in the town and has left everyone in awe. In fact, the trailer got the audience excited for the release and it was evident with Animal recording second highest advance booking collection after Jawan. And as Animal has been garnering positive response, it has managed to take over the box office like a storm and is shattering records from the first day itself.

For the uninitiated, Animal has recorded an opening day collection of Rs 61 crores which marks the second highest opening day collection after Jawan (Rs 75 crores). Interestingly, with a collection of Rs 61 crores, Animal has emerged as Ranbir Kapoor's highest opener ever and has also managed to beat KGF 2 and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan to record the highest 1st Friday collection. To note, KGF 2 minted Rs 46.79 crores on the first Friday while Jawan made Rs 46.23 crores.

Given the buzz around Animal, it is expected to continue roaring loud at the box office on the second day as well. To note, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has made an advance booking collection of over Rs 28 crores for the second day, hopes are high about Animal crossing Rs 100 crores mark on the second day.

Interestingly, Animal is witnessing a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal's biographical war drama Sam Bahadur. Talking about the clash, Vicky told Indian Express, "When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won't say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema".
