Animal Box Office Day 19: Ranbir’s Film Inches Close To Beating Gadar 2 Lifetime Collection After Major Dip

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, which was released earlier this year, has been ruling the box office since the first day. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal has been action thriller which came with an interesting ensemble of cast including Ranbir, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The movie had opened to rave reviews from the audience and has been receiving a massive response at the box office.
Animal has managed to create several records at the box office and entered the coveted Rs 500 crores club during the third weekend. In fact, the movie, which had slowed down during the second week, had witnessed an impressive spike in collections during the third weekend. However, post a decent spike, Animal witnessed a major dip in collections on day 18 (third Monday).
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Animal had raked in a collection of Rs 5.5 crores on day 18 which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 517.94 crores. Given the drop and Animal's buzz among fans, Animal is expected to remain steady at the box office today (day 19/third Tuesday) and mint Rs 4-5 crores taking the collection to around Rs 522 crores.
Well, it is evident that Animal is inching close to beating the lifetime collection of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's Gadar 2 which was around Rs 525 crores. In fact, the movie will cross the milestone before the fourth weekend.
Interestingly, Animal is witnessed a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh's biographical war drama Sam Bahadur. Talking about the clash, Vicky told Indian Express, "When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won't say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema". Meanwhile, Ranbir's Animal has managed to crush Sam Bahadur at the box office and this is evident with a huge gap in their collections.
