Animal Box Office Day 17: Ranbir’s Film To Cross 500Cr; Will It Cross Gadar 2 Lifetime Collection In 3rd Week?

Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol starrer Animal, which had released early this month, is in the third weekend and the action drama is refusing to slow down anytime soon. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and also starring Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri in the lead, Animal has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and has been doing wonders at the box office.

The gory action drama has been going strong at the box office since the first day and created several records including becoming Ranbir and Bobby's highest opener, recording second highest opening day collection, becoming Ranbir's highest grosser ever and more. In fact, as Animal had crossed Rs 400 crore mark during the second week, it seemed to have slowed down at the box office.

However, the third weekend brought a new pace in the collections. After earning Rs 13 crores yesterday (day 16/third Saturday) and taking the collections to Rs 498.14 crores, Animal is set to enter the coveted Rs 500 crores club today. Given the movie's strong hold during the weekend, Animal is expected to rake in Rs 10-13 crores today (day 17/third Sunday) which will take the collections to around Rs 510 crores.

Well, if Animal's strong hold continues during the third week, it is likely to cross the lifetime collection of Gadar 2 which happens to be around 525.7 crores. It will be interesting to see how Animal will fare during the third week at the box office.

Interestingly, Animal is witnessing a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh's biographical war drama Sam Bahadur. Talking about the clash, Vicky told Indian Express, "When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won't say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema". Meanwhile, Ranbir's Animal has managed to crush Sam Bahadur at the box office and this is evident with a huge gap in their collections.
