Box Office Report June: The month of June has been really impressive for Bollywood. There were three major films - Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Adipurush, and Satyaprem Ki Katha created waves at the box office.

While 1920: The Horrors of The Heart, a small-budget Bollywood movie, and Punjabi film Carry On Jatta 3 have changed the scenario for the film industry, proving content is only the king. As we have entered July, see where these films earrings stand now.

Satyaprem Ki Katha

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani made one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2023. The film that released on June 29, saw the duo back again as lovers after last year's hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. After having a decent opening with 9 cr, the film has seen a dip in its weekdays. On Wednesday, July 5, Satyaprem Ki Katha made only Rs 3.85 crore in the domestic market, taking its 7-day collection to 50.61.

Adipurush

Om Raut's offering, Adipurush, based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, is one of the most expensive films ever made in India. Made on a budget of 700 crore, the epic saga movie has been declared a disaster at the box office. With shoddy VFX, a poor storyline, and cringe dialogues, audiences have rejected the movie for distorting the Ramayana.

Starring Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, the film released on June 16 added Rs 12.12 crore, while it will soon end its third week at the box office, becoming the second highest-grosser of the year, with an estimated total of Rs 128.50 crore nett in Hindi.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, released on June 2, went on to become one of the most profitable films of 2023. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, who play a middle-class married couple in the film, opened to a lukewarm response but eventually went on to be cinegoers first choice.

On its day 1, the family drama movie earned Rs 5.25 crore at the box office and will now soon fizzle out of theatres. It has entered its 33rd day and is expected to earn 0.40 crore, industry tracker Sacnilk reported. Meanwhile, it has made an overall collection of Rs 85.05 crore nett in India and Rs 111.92 crore worldwide, making it a successful movie as it was produced on a budget of Rs 40 crore.

Carry On Jatta 3

The surprising entry into the list of June releases is a superhit Punjabi comedy franchise, Carry On Jatta 3. Starring Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa, the film is currently having a historic run at the box office and has earned Rs 53.26 crore worldwide till now.

According to an industry tracker website, Sacnilk, Carry On Jatta 3 on its seventh day may earn 1.90 crore, which will take its collection in India to 26.02.

1920: Horrors of the Heart

Vikram Bhatt's daughter Krishna Bahtt's directorial debut, 1920: Horrors of the Heart, made another surprise entry in the list of successful small-budget films. It is the fifth film in the 1920 series, starring Avika Gor, Rahul Dev, Barkha Bisht, Randheer Rai, Danish Pandor, Ketaki Kulkarni, and others.

Made on a limited budget of 10 cr, 1920: Horrors of the Heart dropped in theatres on June 23. The film on its 11th day added 11.9 cr, while on its 12th day, it is expected to collect 0.4 cr, according to the website Sacnilk. With this, the film's net collection so far will add up to Rs 12,3 crore.
