Dream Girl 2 Box Office Collection Day 5 Prediction: Amidst tough competition from Gadar 2 starring Sunny Deol and OMG 2 featuring Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurrana's Dream Girl 2 seems to be holding its ground well.

Helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film is demonstrating a commendable box office performance. The comedy-drama film is the sequel to the 2019 hit movie of the same name and is now inching closer to the Rs 50 crore club in India.

Dream Girl 2 witnessed a jump in the last weekend as it amassed Rs 40 crore. The film opened to decent box office numbers on August 25 as it earned Rs 10.69 crore on day 1.

It earned Rs 14.02 crore on its second day, and on Sunday, the film saw a huge jump as it minted Rs 16 crore. On day 4, Dream Girl 2 made Rs 4.70 crore nett in India, hence taking its total collection to Rs 45.41 crore.

According to trade website Sacnilk, Dream Girl 2 may earn Rs 5.50 crore India net on its fifth day, taking its overall collection to Rs 51.63 crore. While its global collection will stand at 62.5 million.

The film will continue with its uninterrupted screening until Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' strikes the cinema halls next week, on September 7.

Ayushmann remembered his father on Dream Girl 2's success

Ayushmann remembered his late father, P Khurana and revealed the film was his favorite. News agency ANI quoted him as saying, "I wish my father was here to experience this. Dream Girl was his favourite film. He was very proud of how I attempted something so different."

"I remember he was in splits while watching the film. He had predicted that the film will be a roaring success. I wish he could have watched Dream Girl 2 too," he said.

About Dream Girl 2

Ayushmann Khurrana plays Karam, a jagrata artist who is good at faking a female voice. In order to make a quick buck, he resorts to posing as Pooja, creating ruckus and confusion. Ananya Panday plays Karam's love interest, Pari.

The film's star cast includes Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav.
