Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of Dunki and the audience can't keep calm about it. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial happens to be SRK's third release of the year after Pathaan and Jawan and fans are looking forward to a hattrick of superhits from the superstar. As Dunki has managed to create a substantial buzz in the town, the makers have started the advance booking of the film a week before the release.
Interestingly, Dunki has been receiving and impressive response from the advance booking and fans seem to be eagerly waiting for the big release of the more which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal in the lead. And now, as per a recent update shared by Sacnilk, Dunki is inching close to Rs 10 crores collection from advance booking.
It is reported that over 2.6 lakhs tickets have been sold Dunki for 9,949 shows in India and the movie raked in Rs 7.62 crores from advance booking so far. Interestingly, Dunki is witnessing a box office clash with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Salaar and it giving a tough fight to the action thriller. To note, Salaar has minted Rs 6.14 crores with the sale of 2.5 lakh tickets for 4,400 shows across India.
It is evident that Dunki has managed to beat Salaar in terms of advance booking so far. It will be interesting to see if Dunki will managed to maintain this lead. Meanwhile, talking about the clash, Salaar producer Vijay Kirangdur told Bollywood Hungama, "We don't want things to be ugly. We are already having meetings with the exhibitors and distributors. When we have a solo release, the occupancy generally will be around 60-70 percent. Some screens will go to 'Aquaman', but between Salaar and 'Dunki', we hope to get 50-50 screens in the best scenario. In such a scenario, if an occupancy of 90-100 percent is achieved, it'll be a good result for both films".
Meanwhile, it is also expected that Dunki will have a fantastic start at the box office. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, producer and film business expert Girish Johar stated, "Dunki will definitely see Rs 30-35 crores+ which is a fantastic number for a non holiday. And I think there is a reason behind releasing it on 21st which is a Thursday, probably they would want the word of mouth to kick in by the weekend which is a smart strategy by the makers".
