Dunki Box Office Day 1 Prediction: SRK’s Film To Have Fantastic Start; Will It Beat Animal & Pathaan?

After ruling the box office throughout the year with Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is now making headlines for his third release - Dunki. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in the lead and happens to be a comedy drama. Dunki has managed to create immense buzz in the town with its interesting trailer.

In fact, as Dunki marks Shah Rukh's first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani, it has emerged as one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Needless to say, there are speculations about how Dunki will perform at the box office post release. After all, Shah Rukh has already given two mega-blockbusters this year and fans are wondering if Dunki will make a hattrick for Shah Rukh Khan.

Dunki Box Office Collection Day 1 Prediction

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, producer and film business expert Girish Johar stated that Shah Rukh Khan starrer will be off to a "fantastic start". He stated, "Dunki will definitely see Rs 30-35 crores+ which is a fantastic number for a non holiday. And I think there is a reason behind releasing it on 21st which is a Thursday, probably they would want the word of mouth to kick in by the weekend which is a smart strategy by the makers". While the exact numbers are yet to be out, it will be interesting to see if Dunki will be able to beat the opening day collection of Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (Rs 63.8 crores) and Pathaan (Rs 57 crores).

Dunki Advance Booking Report Day 1

Interestingly, Dunki will be witnessing a box office clash with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Salaar and the Prashanth Neel directorial has been leading in terms of advance booking in India and abroad. It is reported Dunki has raked in over Rs 11.65 crores in advance booking so far, while Salaar has minted over Rs 18.84 crores from advance booking in India so far.

Talking about the clash, Salaar producer Vijay Kirangdur told Bollywood Hungama, "We don't want things to be ugly. We are already having meetings with the exhibitors and distributors. When we have a solo release, the occupancy generally will be around 60-70 percent. Some screens will go to 'Aquaman', but between Salaar and 'Dunki', we hope to get 50-50 screens in the best scenario. In such a scenario, if an occupancy of 90-100 percent is achieved, it'll be a good result for both films". It will be interesting to see if Salaar will impact Dunki's collections
