Dunki Box Office Day 3 Prediction: SRK’s Comedy Drama To Pick Pace During 1st Weekend; To Cross 60Cr Today

After giving hits like Pathaan and Jawan this year, Shah Rukh Khan is now making headlines for his recent release - Dunki. The movie is said to be a comedy drama which is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and also features Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Anil Grover and Vicky Kaushal in key roles. Dunki is based on the eponymous illegal immigration technique and has managed to create a lot of buzz in the town.

And while it was touted to be one of the biggest releases of the year, the movie has failed to meet up the box office expectations. Yes! Dunki had opened to mixed reviews from the audience and made a slow start at the box office with a collection of Rs 29.2 crores on the first day. And while Dunki was expected to remain steady at the box office, it saw a significant drop of 33% on day 2 (first Friday) and minted just Rs 19.4 crores taking the overall collections to Rs 48.6 crores

And now, as Dunki is facing the first weekend at the box office, it is likely to pick up pace and mint over Rs 20 crores at the box office and cross Rs 60 crores mark today. It will be interesting to see if Dunki will be able to enter the Rs 100 crore during the opening weekend.

Interestingly, Dunki is witnessing a box office clash with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's much talked about movie Salaar and the latter is giving it a tough fight. Yes! Salaar has managed to crush Dunki and made an opening day collection of Rs 95 crores after opening to rave reviews from the audience. This isn't all. Salaar, which has been helmed by ace filmmaker Prashanth Neel, has also reportedly scored Rs 175 crores at the worldwide box office on its day of release.
