Dunki Box Office Collection Day 8 Prediction: SRK’s Film Goes Steady; Moves Towards 160Cr Ahead Of 2nd Weekend

Shah Rukh Khan's recent release Dunki has been the talk of the town lately for several reasons. The comedy drama not just marks Shah Rukh's first collaboration with National Award winning director Rajkumar Hirani, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, but it also deals with a relevant topic of the eponymous illegal immigration technique. From the teaser to trailer, posters to songs, everything about Dunki managed to create a substantial buzz in the town.

And while Dunki hit the screens on December 21, there have been speculations if it can recreate the magic of Shah Rukh's Pathaan and Jawan at the box office. However, much opposite to everyone's expectations, Dunki witnessed an average start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 29.2 crores. While Dunki did see some growth during the opening weekend, it has been witnessing a continuous drop in numbers since Christmas.

While Dunki made a collection of Rs 24.32 crores on day 5 (first Monday), the collection of was Rs 11.56 crores on day 6 (first Tuesday). Interestingly, Dunki is trying to maintain a steady hold at the ticket windows and earned Rs 10.54 crores on day 7 (first Wednesday) which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 152.05 crores. And now given the trends, it is expected that Dunki is likely to be steady and mint around Rs 8-10 crores today (day 8/ second Thursday) and inch closer to Rs 160 crores mark.

Interestingly, Dunki is witnessing a box office clash with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's much talked about movie Salaar and the latter is giving it a tough fight. Yes! Salaar has managed to crush Dunki and made an opening day collection of Rs 95 crores after opening to rave reviews from the audience. This isn't all. Salaar, which has been helmed by ace filmmaker Prashanth Neel, has also reportedly scored Rs 175 crores at the worldwide box office on its day of release. In fact, it has raked in Rs 400 crores worldwide so far in just 4 days of release.
