Dunki vs Salaar Box Office Collection Day 1: Prabhas’ Action Thriller CRUSHES Shah Rukh’s Film With Huge Gap

Shah Rukh Khan has proved himself to be a box office king this year with his two blockbusters - Pathaan and Jawan - setting the box office on fire. And now that he has come up with his third release Dunki, the fans are curious to see if it will also be a box office trendsetter. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani in the lead and has opened to mixed reviews from the audience.

Interestingly, Dunki has been witnessing a box office clash with Prashanth Neel's Salaar which features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran along with Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju in key roles. Both the movies have been among the most anticipated releases of the year and the clash has left everyone intrigued about who will be leading at the box office.

As per the recent update, Prabhas' Salaar has managed to crush Dunki on the first day of release with a huge gap. For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh's Dunki has reportedly raked in Rs 30 crores on the first day of release. On the other hand, Salaar has witnessed a thunderous response at the ticket windows and is likely to mint Rs 95 crores on day 1 (first Friday). It is evident that Salaar is leading with a huge margin.

Meanwhile, talking about the clash, Salaar producer Vijay Kirangdur told Bollywood Hungama, "We don't want things to be ugly. We are already having meetings with the exhibitors and distributors. When we have a solo release, the occupancy generally will be around 60-70 percent. Some screens will go to 'Aquaman', but between Salaar and 'Dunki', we hope to get 50-50 screens in the best scenario. In such a scenario, if an occupancy of 90-100 percent is achieved, it'll be a good result for both films".
