Speaking to Filmibeat exclusively, producer and film business expert Girish Johar weighed in on how Rani's comeback movie would perform.

He said, "Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is for urban audiences targeted at metro cities and is not a typical commercial film. The trailer has received a fantastic response, and I'm pretty sure that family audiences will definitely try to watch the film." He further said, "The film is pretty nuanced and has a wider audience because of the female lead."

He also added, "Having said that, I believe that Mrs Chaterjee Vs Norway's success is purely based on word of mouth, and I am positive that's what's going to drive it.

When asked about the opening numbers of the film, Girish said, "I expect Mrs Chatterjee to open anywhere around one, one and a half core marks."

Further, when asked about Rani Mukherji's comeback and how it will impact the film's business, Mr. Johar said, "Rani Mukherji is coming back after Mardani and Bunty Aur Babli 2. She's done a fantastic film and is an excellent performer considering whatever we've seen from the trailer and promotional material. So I'm sure that this is again a top-notch performance from her."

ABOUT MRS CHATTERJEE VS NORWAY

Directed by Ashima Chibber, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is an upcoming legal drama co-written by Rahul Handa, Sameer Satija, and Chibber. The film is inspired by the true story of an Indian couple whose kids were forcibly taken away from them by the Norwegian welfare services in 2011.

Rani Mukerji will be seen in the titular role of a mother, Sagarika Bhattacharya, who fought against the Norwegian government in court to regain custody of her children. It also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh in key supporting roles. The film is produced by Emmay Entertainment and Rani Mukherjee.
