Zwigato Day 1 Box Office Collection Prediction: Actor and filmmaker Nandita Das is all set for the release of her slice-of-life drama movie Zwigato. The film is releasing on March 11. Zwigato had its premiere at the Busan and Toronto Film Festivals and received tremendous acclaim. The movie stars comedian Kapil Sharma and actress Shahana Goswami in lead roles. Kapil Sharma will be seen playing the role of a food delivery boy, which highlights the gig economy of the country where the life of a delivery agent grapples with the world of ratings and incentives. Meanwhile, it also showcases the hardships and struggles of a working-class man.

Zwigato has been in the spotlight since its announcement. The film's trailer was very well received as it contains all the elements of an emotional drama. Zwigato is a different take on life, and going by Kapil Sharma's popularity, the buzz around the movie seems to be quite optimistic. On the other hand, the film's team has been extensively promoting the movie.

In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, film producer and film business expert Girish Johar spoke about the early signs of Zwigato's first day in theaters. Calling the film "not so typical", Johar said Zwigato is an urban film that targets metropolis moviegoers and its box office business relies heavily on word of mouth.

Meanwhile, it will be a battle at the box office tomorrow as Rani Mukherji's Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway also hits the theaters. However, Kapil Sharma's insane popularity hopefully pulls in the desired footfalls for Zwigato. Meanwhile, known for his comedy, Kapil's last comic movies, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015) and Firangi (2017), were a dud at the box office, whereas he will be seen in a more serious and intense role in Zwigato. The film is backed by Nandata Das and Kapil Sharma.

He said, "Zwigato is a nuanced and has an urban niche. I am confident that positive word-of-mouth will help the movie grow its business. The film is likely to have an under a crore opening. But having said that, the box office is very dynamic. If the word of mouth is good, obviously we can have higher numbers." The exact numbers for Zwigato are awaited

Talking about selecting Kapil Sharma for the role, director Nandita Das told news agency ANI, "I had not seen Kapil Sharma's show, so I did not know much about him. But one day my eyes fell on a video of Kapil which was from an award show. When I saw that clip, I felt like aam aadmi ki tarah hai. His languages and gestures speak of a common man's mannerisms."
