Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 34: Sunny’s Film Struggles To Beat Pathaan Due To Jawan; Fails To Make 50L

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has been one of the most talked about and anticipated releases of the year. Helmed by Anil Sharma and also starrer Utkarsh Sharma, the movie has been the much sequel to the 2001 release Gadar and marks the return of Sunny and Ameesha as Tara Singh Sakina after two decades. As expected, Gadar 2 had opened to rave reviews from the audience.

And while fans have been in awe of Sunny Deol taking over Pakistan once again, their love for the movie was evidently visible on the box office as Gadar 2 attained the status of a blockbuster film. The Anil Sharma directorial has been creating records at the box office since release.

After maintaining a strong hold at the box office for over a month now, it seems to be falling weak now. As per a report published in Sacnilk, Gadar 2 is struggling to make Rs 50 lakhs at the box office and will be raking in Rs 34 lakhs on day 34 of release (today). If the reports turn out to be true, Gadar 2's overall collection will stand at Rs 316.41 crores. It is evident that the massive drop in the collections Gadar 2 came after the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan.

And while there have been speculations about Gadar 2 beating the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan which happens to be Rs 525 crore, given the drastic fall in collection, it will be interesting to see if the Sunny Deol starrer will be able to become the second highest grossing film in Bollywood.

Earlier, Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently spoke about Jawan's effect on the film's collection and told Indian Express, "Just like how Gadar 2 got the audience's love, Jawan is set to receive the same amount of love and more. People are going to have a great cinema-watching experience".
