Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 29: Sunny’s Film Sees Major Drop Post Jawan Release; Struggles At Rs 1Cr

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The Anil Sharma directorial, which marked Tara Singh and Sakina's return on the big screen, had opened to rave reviews and an impressive box office collection. Gadar 2 released on August 11 and the movie has been shattering box office records for weeks now.

Gadar 2 started the box office journey with a collection of Rs 40.1 crore and has become the fastest movie to cross Rs 400 cr and Rs 500 marks. And after an impressive performance at the box office, Gadar 2 magic is now slowing down and is witnessing massive dips after the fourth week. Yes! You read it right. After earning Rs 1.50 crore at the box office on day 28 of release, it has further dipped on day 29.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Gadar 2 struggled at a collection of Rs 1 crore at the box office on day 29. Reportedly, it will be earning just Rs 1 crore today. If the numbers turned out to be accurate it will be Gadar 2's lowest collection ever post release. Looks like Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan is taking a toll on Gadar 2's box office collection.

For the uninitiated, Jawan has managed to beat Gadar 2's opening day business on day 1 itself. While Gadar 2 opened at Rs 40.1 crores, Jawan made a collection of Rs 65 crore (Hindi) on its day of release.

Earlier, Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently spoke about Jawan's effect on the film's collection and told Indian Express, "Just like how Gadar 2 got the audience's love, Jawan is set to receive the same amount of love and more. People are going to have a great cinema-watching experience. They'll whistle, dance, and clap. The public wants to see extravagant films, tamasha dekhna hai. Otherwise, they are anyway sitting home alone and watching films. People are craving community experience and these films are the answer. With Jawan, the industry will only benefit. Such films are important"
