Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 33: Sunny’s Film’s Struggle Continues; Fails To Beat SRK’s Movie’s Record

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's jodi took the Indian box office by a storm lately with the release of Gadar 2 on August 11. Helmed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 was a much awaited sequel to the 2001 release Gadar and marked Sunny and Ameesha's return as Tara Singh and Sakina. The movie opened to impressive reviews and its box office journey has been phenomenal.

In its journey of over a month, Gadar 2 has shattered several box office records and set a new benchmark. And while Gadar 2 continues to create a buzz in the town, it is now struggling to cross Rs 1 crore at the box office these days. Yes! Post the release of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, Gadar 2 box office collection has dropped tremendously, making it difficult for the movie to survive.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Gadar 2 will continue to struggle on day 33 of release. The media report suggests that Gadar 2 will be raking in Rs 0.57 crores at the box office on day 33 which will take the overall collection of the movie to Rs 514.89 crores. While the official numbers will be out soon, if the reports turned out to be true, Gadar 2 has failed to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan by a huge gap.

For the uninitiated, Pathaan raked in Rs 2.45 crores at the box office on day 33. To note, Pathaan had the second highest day 33 collection after 3 Idiots (Rs 2.48 crores). Given the significant fall in the numbers, it will be interesting to see if Gadar 2 will be able to surpass the lifetime collection of Pathaan (Rs 525 crore) in the coming days.

Earlier, Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently spoke about Jawan's effect on the film's collection and told Indian Express, "Just like how Gadar 2 got the audience's love, Jawan is set to receive the same amount of love and more. People are going to have a great cinema-watching experience".
