Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 36: Sunny’s Film Sees Over 70% Dip In Earnings Amid Jawan Wave In Week 5

Sunny Deol has been grinning ear to ear these days and rightfully so after all he got his first blockbuster hit in years lately. We are talking about his recent release Gadar 2 with Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. The movie was one of the most anticipated movies of the year and has been shining bright at the box office.

Interestingly, Gadar 2, which saw a phenomenal opening at the box office, has enjoyed a phenomenal run at the box office for over a month. However, with the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan on September 7 this year, Gadar 2's box office collections saw a massive drop.

Although Gadar 2 is trying to have a strong hold at the box office, as per the recent update, Sunny Deol's film will be seeing a drop of 73.58% in the collections in the fifth week. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Gadar 2 will be making a collection of Rs 7.28 crores in the fifth week. The report also suggested that Gadar 2 will be raking in around 35 lakhs today (day 36). It is the lowest collection ever earned by Gadar 2 so far post its release.

It is evident that the drop in Gadar 2 collections is the result of Jawan effect at the box office. Earlier, Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently spoke about Jawan's effect on the film's collection and told Indian Express, "Just like how Gadar 2 got the audience's love, Jawan is set to receive the same amount of love and more. People are going to have a great cinema-watching experience. They'll whistle, dance, and clap. The public wants to see extravagant films, tamasha dekhna hai. Otherwise, they are anyway sitting home alone and watching films. People are craving community experience and these films are the answer. With Jawan, the industry will only benefit. Such films are important".
