Gadar 2 Inches Close To Beat SRK’s Pathaan

The Indian box office is on fire these days with two big releases ruling the ticket windows. We are talking about Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. And while Jawan has taken over the box office like a giant tsunami, Gadar 2 continues have a stronghold at the ticket windows.

In fact, the Anil Sharma directorial has been witnessing a slow but steady growth at the box office. Although Gadar 2 did slow down after entering the coveted Rs 500 crore club, it has witnessed a massive growth in collections during the fifth weekend.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Gadar 2, which minted Rs 0.71 crores on the 6th Saturday (day 37), is likely to earn Rs 0.98 crores on the 6th Sunday (day 38). As Gadar 2 witnessed a 38% growth in the collections, the overall collections of the movie stands at Rs 519.41 crores. It is evident that Gadar 2 is still unstoppable even after over a month of its release and is inching close to beating the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan which happens to be Rs 525 crores and become the second highest grossing Hindi film ever after Baahubali: The Conclusion.

It is evident that SRK's Jawan did affect the collections of Gadar 2. Earlier, Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently spoke about Jawan's effect on the film's collection and told Indian Express, "Just like how Gadar 2 got the audience's love, Jawan is set to receive the same amount of love and more. People are going to have a great cinema-watching experience. They'll whistle, dance, and clap. The public wants to see extravagant films, tamasha dekhna hai. Otherwise, they are anyway sitting home alone and watching films. People are craving community experience and these films are the answer. With Jawan, the industry will only benefit. Such films are important".
