Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 40: Sunny’s Film To See Jump On Ganeshotsav; Inches Close To Beating Pathaan

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel took the box office by a storm this year as they came with the much talked about movie Gadar 2. The Anil Sharma directorial was a sequel to the 2001 release Gadar and the movie has been well received by the audience. The audience has been in awe of Sunny and Ameesha's return as Tara Singh and Sakina respectively.

And while Gadar 2 is currently in the sixth week, it has managed to have a steady hold at the box office. To note, this Sunny and Ameesha starrer has been going slow ever since it has entered the coveted Rs 500 crores club but has been slowly but gradually growing and is unstoppable.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, after a phenomenal sixth weekend, Gadar 2 witnessed a drop on Monday. However, the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi turned out to be blissful for the Anil Sharma directorial as the movie witnessed a slight jump on its sixth Tuesday.

Reportedly, Gadar 2 is likely to earn Rs 49 lakhs on day 40 of release. It will take the overall collections of Gadar 2 to Rs 520.93 crores. With the steady growth in collections, Gadar 2 is gradually is inching close to beating the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan which happens to be Rs 525 crores and become the second highest grossing Hindi film ever after Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Given the stupendous success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is overwhelmed with the audience's response. Talking about it during Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny Deol said, "I had no such expectations...when the first Gadar movie was made, it's the people who made it a big hit. There was no digital world in those days. But we had that gut feeling that it would click. In those days, we did not use to go out for promotions. This time, before doing Gadar 2, we, particularly our director, did a brainstorming. It was delayed and Covid pandemic began. When he told me about the idea, I liked it and from then onwards, work began. I had this confidence that the people who liked Gadar, will like this sequel too. I knew, either the movie will not click, or if it clicked, it will give the movie its due honour. This movie has kept its izzat as a sequel".
