Jawan Box Office Day 18: SRK’s Film Fails To Beat Gadar 2 On Third Sunday Post Becoming Highest Grosser

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has been the talk of the town ever since the movie was announced. The Atlee directorial also features Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone in the lead and it opened to rave reviews from the audience. The movie started as the highest opener and it has been unstoppable at the box office. While Jawan has been setting new benchmarks with every day, it has become the fastest Hindi movie to enter the Rs 500 crore mark recently at the box office. Interestingly, Jawan saw a slight dip in collections during the second week but still maintained a strong hold at the box office.

But the third weekend revived Jawan's charm at the box office as the movie witnessed a massive jump in collections. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Jawan raked in a collection of Rs 15.69 crores which will take the overall collection of the movie to Rs 562.13 crores. While it has been a massive jump in earnings and has managed to become the highest grossing Hindi film, Jawan has failed to beat Sunny Deol's Gadar 2.

For the uninitiated, Gadar 2 made a collection of Rs 16.1 crores on its third Sunday and had the second highest third Sunday collection after Baahubali 2. Interestingly, Jawan did manage to rake in the highest day 18 collection ever.

Meanwhile, given the phenomenal success of Jawan, there have been reports about a sequel to the movie. Reacting to the reports, Atlee told Pinkvilla, "Every film of mine has an open end but to date, I have never thought of doing a sequel to any of my films. For Jawan, if anything strong comes to me, I will make a part two. I have kept an open end and I can come up with a sequel now or later. But definitely will come up with a sequel to Jawan one day".
