Jawan Box Office Collection Day 8: SRK’s Film Fails To Beat Gadar 2 By Small Margin; Creates THIS Record

We are talking about the clash between Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. Sunny's Gadar 2 (which was released on August 11) enjoyed a phenomenal run at the box office for almost a month before Jawan was released on September 7 and ever since then frequent comparisons have been drawn between the two films. And while Jawan is holding its foot strong and creating new records, there have been speculations if it will be able to beat Gadar 2's collections every day.

Well, as per the recent updates, Jawan, which is going strong on day 8 today, is likely to beat Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan and create another record. However, it has failed to beat Gadar 2's collection. Wondering what record it is?

Well, Jawan, which is likely to make a collection of Rs 19.36 crore today, will record the third highest collection on first Thursday. Yes! Jawan has managed to beat movies like Pathaan (Rs 17.5 cr), Dangal (Rs 18.26 cr) and The Kashmir Files (Rs 19.15 cr) to secure the spot. However, it failed to beat Gadar 2 which had minted Rs 20.5 crores on its first Thursday.

Well, as the competition is on, it will be interesting to see how many records of Gadar 2 will Jawan break in the coming days. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is overwhelmed with the phenomenal response to Jawan. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter (now X), SRK tweeted, "Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside. So overwhelmed will surely do the needful as soon as I get my breath back in a day or so. Uff!! Love u for loving #Jawan".
