Jawan Box Office Day 5: SRK’s Film Fails To Beat Gadar 2; Witnesses Massive Dip In Occupancy On First Monday

Shah Rukh Khan's recent release Jawan seems to be unstoppable at the box office ever since it has hit the theatres. The movie is touted to be a mass entertainer and marks King Khan's first collaboration with renowned director Atlee, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Jawan has been one of the anticipated releases of the year and it has opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics.

In fact, Jawan has been ruling the box office ever since it has been released and has been shattering record every day. From witnessing the highest opening at the box office to becoming the fastest movie to enter the coveted Rs 300 crore club, Jawan's box office journey has been phenomenal. And while Jawan continues to win hearts, it seems to be seeing a dip on the first Monday (day 5).

Reportedly, after witnessing an impressive opening weekend, Jawan has witnessed a massive drop in collections on its first Monday. In fact, as per the occupancy report, there has been a dip in the occupancy on the first Monday as well. While Jawan has the occupancy of 53.71% (morning shows), day 5 has reportedly witnessed an occupancy of 17.38% (morning shows). Interestingly, it has failed to beat Gadar 2's occupancy on its first Monday. To note, Gadar 2 had the morning occupancy of 25.66%

Talking about the afternoon shows, Jawan had an occupancy of 26.52% while Gadar 2 had an occupancy of 48.09% during the noon shows. Meanwhile, Jawan has also failed to beat the first Monday collection of Gadar 2. While the Shah Rukh Khn starrer is expected to mint Rs 30 crore today, Gadar 2 had minted Rs 38.7 crores on its first Monday.

On the other hand, Jawan has subsided Gadar 2 at the box office. The Anil Sharma directorial, which broke several records at the box office, has witnessed massive dip in the collections. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Gadar 2 will fail to cross Rs 1 crore mark on day 32 (the fifth Monday of release). The movie is expected to rake in Rs 0.79 crore today.
