Jawan Box Office Day 23: Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Dethrones Gadar 2, Pathaan; Becomes Highest Grossing Hindi Film

Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara's recent release Jawan, which has been helmed by Atlee, has been one of the biggest releases of the year. The massy entertainer had opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics and it has witnessed the biggest opening at the box office. Interestingly, Jawan has been witnessing a tough competition from Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 which has also been one of the biggest releases of 2023. And while Jawan has been shattering box office records and setting new bechnmarks.

And while it was reported that Gadar 2 has managed beat Pathaan's lifetime collection and become the highest grossing Hindi film, the recent box office report states that Jawan has dethroned Sunny and Meesha starrer. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Pathaan (Hindi) made a lifetime collection of Rs 524.53 crores while Gadar 2 managed to beat it recently with a collection of Rs 524.80 rores.

Now, Jawan has managed to rake in Rs 525.50 crores and become the highest grossing Hindi film ever. Needless to say, it is a massive record made by the Atlee directorial. The media reports also suggest that Jawan has also managed to cross Rs 1000 crores at the worldwide box office so far and has become the fastest movie to achieve the feat.

Meanwhile, given the phenomenal success of Jawan, there have been reports about a sequel to the movie. Reacting to the reports, Atlee told Pinkvilla, "Every film of mine has an open end but to date, I have never thought of doing a sequel to any of my films. For Jawan, if anything strong comes to me, I will make a part two. I have kept an open end and I can come up with a sequel now or later. But definitely will come up with a sequel to Jawan one day".
