Box Office: Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Has A Very Good Weekend, Set To Score Century In First Week Itself

Box Office Update: It has been a big weekend of just a little lesser than 70 crores for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. 2023 has been rather low for movies across all languages, be it Hindi, Hollywood, or South, and hence Rs 75-100 crore weekends have been rather out of the question.
In fact, all that movies are hoping for is to get a weekend of over Rs 50 crores and the only Hindi movie which has managed it so far is Pathaan. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer was in a different league altogether as it collected 166.75 crores in its first three days.
For the Salman Khan starrer though, it was always going to be a tricky weekend. The film was announced long back as an Eid release but then there was uncertainty around when would the festival fall. Had it been Thursday then it would have been a huge advantage for the film to release on that day or Friday.
FIRST WEEKEND COLLECTION OF KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN
The festival to arrive even a day later would have been good as the momentum would have been built on Friday itself with the holiday falling on that day. However since Eid arrived on Saturday, the holiday advantage was actually lost since the film ended up releasing on pre-Eid and that's the lowest proposition for any release, especially when the last thing that your target population has in mind is to watch a film in theatres.
Nonetheless, the decision was taken for the eventual arrival of the film during the weekend gone by and there would have been no looking back. As a result, the film just about opened decently and then grew excellently on Saturday while stabilising on Sunday, hence resulting in a very good weekend which ended up seeing 68 crores* coming in.
KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN SHOULD MAINTAIN PACE DURING WEEKDAYS
What has to be seen though is where does the film go during the weekdays. The collections should hold up reasonably well today (and perhaps even tomorrow) due to post-festival follow through. However, from Wednesday onwards, it would be the merits that would come into play which would decide how much further ahead of the 100 crores mark would the film travel after the first week
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
