Mission Raniganj Box Office Collection Day 6: Akshay’s Film Remains Steady, TYFC Struggles To Reach 10Cr

Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. This Tinu Suresh Desai features Akshay boasting a turbaned avatar and narrates a true story of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill who rescued 65 trapped miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. Also starring Parineeti Chopra in the lead and Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue has opened to mixed reviews.
The movie witnessed a slow start at the box office and turned out to be Akshay Kumar's third lowest collection in a decade after Bell Bottom and Selfiee. And now, as Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is set to complete a week at the ticket window, this Akshay Kumar starrer is going steady at the box office and is inching towards Rs 20 crores.
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue will be raking in Rs 1.43 crores at the box office on Day 6 of release (first Wednesday). If the reports turned out to be true, the overall collection of Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue now stands at Rs 17.03 crores.
Interestingly, Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue witnessed a box office clash with Rhea Kapoor's production Thank You For Coming starring Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Karan Kundrra, Kusha Kapila, Shibani Bedi and Dolly Singh. Released on 500 screens, Thank You For Coming has been struggling to reach Rs 10 crore mark as of now.
According to Sacnilk, Thank You For Coming is also going steading and will be raking in Rs 0.4 crores on today (day 6). As a result, the overall box office collection of the movie now stands at Rs 5.62 crores.
It will be interesting to see how both films will fare in the coming days. Meanwhile, talking about Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, Akshay, while addressing the students of IIT Dhanbad in a virtual interaction, stated, "Jaswant Gill's real-life story is truly inspiring and encouraging. Similarly, 'Padman' also showcased the inspiring journey of a visionary. They don't make people like them anymore. As an actor, I really love working on such inspirational stories that need to be told. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to speak to Jaswantji on call when he was alive. He was so humble, simple, and down to earth that it was genuinely an honor talking to him".
