Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway Box Office Collection Day 3: Rani Mukerji's latest court drama, which opened in theaters on March 17, has received a positive response from audiences. Rani's comeback movie started off on a disappointing note at the box-office. It made Rs 1.27 crore on its first day, and it is likely to pick up speed during the weekend.

Directed by Ashima Chibber, the movie has tough competition at the box office as a number of movies have released on the same day, including Kapil Sharma's Zwigato, the pan-India Kannada movie Kabzaa, and the Hollywood flick Shazam. While Ranbir Kapoor's Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is still making raves at the cinemas. This makes the box-office battle really interesting.

ABOUT MRS CHATTERJEE VS NORWAY

Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway is a story about an Indian mother, Debika Chatterjee (Rani Mukerji), who single-handedly fights with the Norwegian authorities to get back the custody of her kids. The film depicts the plight of a real-life mother who went through the ordeal of having her children taken away from her by the country's child welfare authorities due to poor parenting.

Meanwhile, soon after the film's release, the Norwegian Ambassador to India, Hans Jacob Frydenlund, said in an op-ed that the film wrongly depicts the country's belief in family life and respect for other cultures. He also added that the movie contains "factual inaccuracies" and that the story is a "fictional representation of the case."

REAL MRS. CHATTERJEE RAECTS

Soon, Sagarika Chakraborty, the lady on whom the Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway movie is based, reacted to the Norwegian Ambassador's claims in a video that was shared by producer Nikkhil Advani. In the video, Sagarika said, "He spoke about my case without having any decency to ask me. He should take this as an opportunity to sensitize Norwegian caseworkers about cultural prejudice. Even 10 years after I have single-handedly brought up my children so well in full view of the world." She further added, "The Norwegian Government continues to spread lies against me. Till today, they have not apologised for the racism of their caseworkers. They destroyed my life, and my reputation and traumatized my children."
