As its performance remains below average, the movie has still managed to maintain steady growth at the ticket windows. Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway opened to the cinemas under heavy competition from a bunch of movies, including Kapil Sharma's Zwigato, Kabzaa, and Hollywood's Shazam! Fury of Gods. The movie, which premiered on about 535 screens, earned Rs 1.25 crore on its opening day.

While the social drama made Rs 3 crore on day 3, taking the total box office collection to Rs 6.73 crore. On March 19, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway saw a total of 24.43 percent Hindi occupancy at the theaters. Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway focuses on the plight of an Indian mother living in Norway who single-handedly fought against the entire nation to gain back her children's custody. The film also stars Anirban Bhattacharya and Jim Sarbh. The movie is based on Sagarika Chakraborty's autobiography, The Journey of a Mother, whose kids were taken away by the Norwegian childcare system in 2011 under the pretext of bad parenting.
