OMG 2 BO Collection Day 1 Prediction: Akshay Kumar Starrer Set For A Decent Opening Despite Clash with Gadar 2

Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 BO Collection Prediction: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is all set to enthrall the cine-lovers with the sequel to his hit movie 'OMG' after 11 years. The new film, titled 'OMG 2,' features Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.
OMG 2 which is slated to release in theaters on August 11 has garnered headlines due to its censorship issues but has managed to get approval with some changes. The film has received an A certificate with a runtime of 2 hours and 36 minutes.
OMG 2 IS SET TO RELEASE IN 1500 THEATERS
The Akshay Kumar starrer is expected to release in more than 1500 theaters across the country. However, it's facing stiff competition from Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, another big film releasing on the same day. The hype around Gadar 2 has affected the advance booking of OMG 2, but it has still made decent pre-sales.
As per a report in industry insider, Sacnilk, despite the competition, the pre-booking of OMG 2 is better than Akshay Kumar's previous movie Selfiee. As of August 9, around 46.5K tickets worth 1.50 crores have been sold for the opening day. Also, the film has sold around 29K tickets among major theater chains.
OMG 2 TO EARN 9-10 CRORES ON OPENING DAY
The film's advance booking trend indicates an opening of at least 7 crores, which could go up to 9-10 crores if word of mouth is positive. Also, the film is expected to gain momentum over the Independence Day week.
Helmed by Amit Rai, the movie is a sequel to a hugely successful film which is expected to add to the advantage.
Meanwhile, Pankaj Tripathi reacted to the film's A certificate and told DNA, "When we got an A certificate, we got surprised. This is because while making a film, we know whether or not a film will get an A certificate, (for example,) Gangs Of Wasseypur. When we were making it, we knew that it will get an Adults Only certificate. However, when we were making OMG 2, we didn't think that it will get such a rating. Iss film ko A milna, surprise tha humare liye. Thoda malaal hua ki jis age-group ko yeh film dekhni chaiye, 12-17 saal ke, woh nahi dekh payenge (For me it was a surprise. I was a bit disappointed, as the target age group of 12-17 years old won't be able to see the film)."
