Salaar vs Dunki Box Office Collection Day 2: Prabhas’ Film To Quash SRK’s Comedy Drama Ahead Of 1st Weekend

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki has finally hit the theatres and it has witnessed a major box office clash with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Salaar. This has been one of the biggest box office clashes of the year and fans have been quite excited about the same. To note, Dunki is a comedy drama based on the eponymous illegal immigration technique while Salaar happens to be a perfect action thriller helmed by Prashanth Neel.

Ever since the box office clash between Shah Rukh and Prabhas was confirmed, there have been speculations about who will be having a lead at the box office. After all, both movies have been among the most anticipated ones. However, Salaar has turned out to be a winner at the box office on the first day of release. Yes! While Dunki witnessed a decent start at Rs 29.2 crores, Salaar set the box office on fire with a collection of Rs 95 crores (all languages combined).

And while the box office battle continues on the second day as well, Dunki has witnessed a significant drop in the collections on day 2 and minted just Rs 20.5 crores which took the over all collections to Rs 49.7 crores. While Dunki has been struggling to rake in Rs 50 crores in two days, Salaar has managed to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club on day 2 with the early shows itself and it is likely to go strong at the box office during the weekend.

Given the ongoing trend, Salaar is expected to make a collection between Rs 80-90 crores (all languages combined). If the reports turned out to be true, Salaar is likely to inch close to Rs 200 crores mark today. It is evident that Salaar has crushed Dunki at the box office and is likely to clean sweep it in the coming days.

Meanwhile, given the phenomenal response to Salaar, Mumbai's Maratha Mandir along with several single-screen owners are reportedly replacing all three shows of Dunki for Prashanth Neel's directorial Salaar - Part One: Ceasefire.
