Satyaprem Ki Katha Box Office Collection Day 1: Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani’s Film Gets Single-Digit Opening

Satyaprem Ki Katha Box Office Collection: Satyaprem Ki Katha, the much-anticipated film helmed by Sameer Vidwans, starring Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan in the lead hit the theatres on June 29.

The film which marks the second collaboration of Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani after their blockbuster film, Bhul Bhoolaiyaa 2, had set expectations high. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala with Namah Pictures, the rom-com received positive word of mouth and rave reviews from critics and movie-goers alike.

Satyaprem Ki Katha had a Thursday release on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. With no major releases, a unique storyline, and engaging performances, the film has set high hopes in terms of box office collection. Here's how the film fared at the box office on day 1 of its release.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA DAY 1 BOX OFFICE REPORT

Early estimates suggest Satyaprem Ki Katha registered a decent start at the domestic ticket window. As per a report in Boxofficeindia.com, the film minted an estimated ₹8.5 -9 crore on Thursday. The report further states that the collection would have been better without the Eid holiday factor.

"Satyaprem Ki Katha picked up on the first day to record decent collections of around 8.50-9 core nett as per early estimates. The pick up was likely as its a holiday for Eid so banks and schools are shut in most states. This actually would have been a good collection if it came without the Eid holiday factor," Box Office India reported.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA BECOMES THIRD BIGGEST OPENER FOR KARTIK AARYAN

The official numbers are now out and it suggests that the film opened on a relishing note for the distributors. The theaters have certainly seen a rush of the audience that has made the film open bigger than a lot of biggies with its first-day collection of 9.25 Cr. on the first day. With this, Kartik Aaryan has booked the third-highest opening of his career.

Meanwhile, along with Kartik Aaryan, Satyaprem Ki Katha also stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Gajraj Rao, Rajpal Yadav, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Nirrmite Saawaant, and Shikha Talsania in pivotal roles.

The film was earlier named, 'Satyanarayan Ki Katha' but was changed to Satyaprem Ki Katha to avoid controversy. The trailer of the film was well received by the viewers and even the music struck a chord with the audience. The songs include Aaj Ke Baad, Pasoori Nu, Naseeb Se, and dance numbers like Sun Sajni and Gujju Pataka.
