Tejas Box Office Day 5: Kangana’s Film’s Shows Cancelled Due To Zero Ticket Sales; To Struggle At 40 Lakhs

Kangana Ranaut has been making headlines these days owing to her recent release Tejas. Helmed by Sarvesh Mewana, the movie features Kangana playing the role of an Indian Air Force officer and happens to be Bollywood's first aerial action film. The movie has opened to mixed reviews from the audience but the viewers weren't really pleased with the VFX work in Tejas.
In fact, this Kangana Ranaut starrer has been struggling at the box office since the first day. From a slow start on the first day to a below average opening weekend collection, Tejas has clearly been having a tough time at the box office. And now as per the recent update, Tejas seems to be in trouble as the movie's shows have been cancelled due to zero ticket sales.
"The occupancy was bad even on a Sunday. There are hardly 10-12 people in each show. From Monday, more than 50% of shows are discontinued. The film is not as bad as the collections reflect. Agreed the VFX is poor. But it's watchable. However, the film has been totally rejected," an exhibitor has reportedly told Bollywood Hungama. A similar situation was witnessed in Bihar's Purnia wherein Roopbani Cinema owner had to cancel the morning shows because of no ticket sales.
With no ticket sales and shows getting cancelled, the box office performance of Tejas is likely to take a toll. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Tejas is likely to mint Rs 40 lakhs today (day 5/first Wednesday) which will take the overall collections to Rs 4.60 crores.
Interestingly, Tejas is witnessing a box office clash with Vikrant Massey's 12th Fail which has been outshinging at the ticket windows. After a decent start at the box office, 12th Fail is likely to earn Rs 1.6 crore today (day 5) which will take the overall collection of the movie to Rs 9.59 crores.
