The Great Indian Family Box Office Collection: After opening extremely low, Vicky Kaushal's latest outing, The Great Indian Family, is set to fece an uphill battle at the box office, as Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan continues to rule the charts.

The comedy-drama, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and featuring former Miss World Manushi Chhillar in a pivotal role, had a lackluster opening day, and its collection on day two doesn't seem significantly brighter.

The Great Indian Family opened to significantly low buzz compared to latest Bollywood releases, which reflected on its first-day box office collection. The Vicky Kaushal starrer minted Rs 1.40 crores in India and the film is expected to continue its struggle even on its second day.

As per a report in industry tracker, Sacnilk the film is estimated to earn around Rs 1.50 crores. This will bring the total two-day collection for The Great Indian Family to Rs 2.90 crores.

ABOUT THE GREAT INDIAN FAMILY

The Great Indian Family marks the return of Vicky Kaushal, after his previous release, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. TGIF follows the story of Vyas Tripathi aka Bhajan Kumar, a staunch Hindu who is so much into religion and spirituality. He is sent into a crisis and challenging situation when he learns that he was born Muslim by birth.

The movie features Vicky Kaushal as Ved Vyas Tripathi, Manushi Chhillar as Jasmeet, Manoj Pahwa as Balak Ram Tripathi, Kumud Mishra as Pandit Siya Ram Tripathi, Yashpal Sharma as Jagannath Mishra, Sadiya Siddiqui as Hema, Alka Amin as Sushila Kumari, Bhuvan Arora as Bhaata, Aasif Khan as Tulsidas Mishra among others in key roles.

The family comedy-drama is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. Ayananka Bose cranked the camera and Charu Shree Roy worked as the film's editor. Pritam composed the film's music while Kingshuk Chakravarty worked on the background score. Yash Raj Studios bankrolled the movie on a budget of Rs 40 Crore.
