Tiger 3 Box Office Collection Day 1: Salman Gets His Highest Opener; Spy Thriller Beats Gadar 2 To Become….

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 has finally hit the screens after creating a massive buzz in the town. Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the movie marks the third installment of a successful espionage thriller franchise which gave films like Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zina Hai. Interestingly, Tiger 3 also features Emraan Hashmi as the lead antagonist and fans have been curious to watch his first face off with Salman.

And while Tiger 3 has opened to rave reviews from the audience, the movie has witnessed a grand opening at the box office. While there were estimates about Tiger 3 witnessing an opening day collection between Rs 30-40 crores, the recent reports suggest that the spy drama has managed to create a box office record on the first day of release.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Tiger 3 has made a collection of Rs 44.50 crores on the first day of release. Interestingly, the much anticipated espionage thriller has emerged as Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi's highest opener ever respectively. On the other hand, Tiger 3 became Katrina Kaif's second highest opener after Thugs of Hindostan Rs 52.25 crores.

This isn't all. Tiger 3 has also managed to beat Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 and became the third highest opener of the year 2023 after Jawan (Rs 65.5 crores) and Pathaan (Rs 55 crores) respectively. While it has failed to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan, it will be interesting to see if Tiger 3 will managed to surpass them in the coming days

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi recently got candid about his role in Tiger 3 and said, "I had an amazing time creating Aatish - a man who is fuelled by rage and will go to any length to finish Tiger. I play a very distinctively different villain that is rare in Hindi cinema. He is cerebral, his mind is his greatest weapon and he also wields immense power over authorities across countries to bring his devious plans into motion. He single-mindedly wants to destroy Tiger, his family and by doing that, he wants to take out the biggest super agent of India. He knows Tiger will always be the last man standing for India and he wants him removed at any cost."
