Tiger 3 Box Office Day 8: Salman’s Film Sees 48% Drop During World Cup 2023 Finals; Fails To Cross 230Cr

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's recent release Tiger 3 has been one of the biggest Diwali releases ever. The movie, which is the third installment of the Tiger franchise, turned out to be Salman's biggest release. Given the success of Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, fans have been quite excited to see the return of the OG spy thriller.

And now, after a thunderous start at the box office, Tiger 3 seems to be slowing down with every day and started the second week on quite a slow note. Yes! After a collection of Rs 44.50 crores on the first day, the Maneesh Sharma directorial saw its first major drop during the India vs New Zealand semi-finals and ever since then, Tiger 3 has been witnessing continuous drop.

Though Tiger 3 did witness a slight jump on day 7 the India vs Australia World Cup 2023 finals took a massive toll on the espionage thriller and the movie witnessed a drop of 48% in collections. After minting Rs 18.5 crores on day 7 (first Saturday), Tiger 3 made a collection of Rs 9.57 crores on day 8 (second Sunday) which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 229 crores.

It will be interesting to see if Tiger 3 will pick up pace during the second week and reach the mark of Rs 300 crores. Needless to say, this Salman starrer has been trailing far behind from Shah Rukh Khan's biggest releases this year Pathaan and Jawan.

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi, who shared the screen for the first time with Salman and Katrina, recently got candid about his role in Tiger 3 and said, "I had an amazing time creating Aatish - a man who is fuelled by rage and will go to any length to finish Tiger. I play a very distinctively different villain that is rare in Hindi cinema. He is cerebral, his mind is his greatest weapon and he also wields immense power over authorities across countries to bring his devious plans into motion. He single-mindedly wants to destroy Tiger, his family and by doing that, he wants to take out the biggest super agent of India. He knows Tiger will always be the last man standing for India and he wants him removed at any cost."
