Tiger 3 Box Office Collection Day 1 Prediction: Salman-Katrina’s Film Becomes Third Highest Opener For The Duo

It's Diwali today and the Indian box office witnessed one of the biggest releases of the year. We are talking about Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 which happens to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. For the uninitiated, this Maneesh Sharma directorial is the third installment of the popular Tiger 3 franchise and also features Emraan Hashmi as the lead antagonist.

Given the stupendous success of Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, everyone has been quite hopeful about Tiger 3. And now, after creating immense buzz at the box office, Tiger 3 has finally released today and witnessed a great start at the ticket windows.

Tiger 3 Becomes Salman Khan's Third Highest Opener

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Tiger 3 is expected to make a opening day collection of Rs 40 crores. Interestingly, the espionage thriller has managed to become the third highest opener for both Salman and Katrina. For the uninitiated, Salman Khan's highest opener happens to be Bharat with an opening day collection of Rs 42.30 crores. This was followed by Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 40.35 crores). On the other hand, Katrina's highest opener Thugs Of Hindostan had reportedly earned Rs 52.25 crores on the first day followed by Bharat.

In fact, Tiger 3 has also witnessed the third highest advance booking collection of the year (Rs 22.67 crores) after Jawan (Rs 37.22 crores) and Pathaan (Rs 31.18 crores) respectively. While Tiger 3 has been grabbing a decent review, it has failed to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan at the box office in terms of opening day collection. It will be interesting to see how Tiger 3 will fare at the box office in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi recently got candid about his role in Tiger 3 and said, "I had an amazing time creating Aatish - a man who is fuelled by rage and will go to any length to finish Tiger. I play a very distinctively different villain that is rare in Hindi cinema. He is cerebral, his mind is his greatest weapon and he also wields immense power over authorities across countries to bring his devious plans into motion. He single-mindedly wants to destroy Tiger, his family and by doing that, he wants to take out the biggest super agent of India. He knows Tiger will always be the last man standing for India and he wants him removed at any cost."
